Devix International Corporation and Winbuyer Ltd. announced today that they have entered into a definitive agreement to provide Devix Commerce Suite users with the ability to display comparative offers directly on their websites.
“We’re enthusiastic about the partnership with Winbuyer’s world class team,” said Ron Wilkins, CEO of Devix International Corp. “This new capability will enable Devix clients to convert browsers into buyers by helping consumers instantly evaluate competitive pricing without leaving our client’s sites.”
With the integration of WinBuyer, Devix continues to expand upon its already robust end-to-end platform enabling users to optimize their business through a single commerce suite.
Winbuyer is based on a Javascript platform which enables users to benefit in two ways: increasing conversion-to-sale by reaffirming the competitiveness of pricing and by adding a new revenue stream which monetizes unconverted traffic through competitors’ CPC placements.
Devix has set it up so that clients can implement WinBuyer in less than 5 minutes,” notes WinBuyer CEO, Dan Clarke. “We’re glad to be a new option for such a client focused and credible provider.” Devix clients will continue to maintain complete control over their own websites with WinBuyer. In addition to providing accurate third party pricing, WinBuyer offers A/B Testing which gives retailers the capability to track their conversion to sale, and Dynamic Text which enables Devix Clients to customize their ratings and product pages.

By now, many of us are aware that the analog signal which television stations used to broadcast since the inception of the greatest invention of the 20th century will send its last transmission this year. At first, it was supposed to be in February of 2009, but after consideration and a little bit of research, the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives agreed to postpone the DTV switch from analog to a digital signal by about four months. Now we just have to wait for the House of Representatives to vote on the matter. Not always does the government elicit the proper response, but this move might have been in the right.
The on-and-off again DTV transition date is causing uproar among the consumer electronics industry and has been met with mixed feelings on both sides of the cash register. Some online merchants and retailers are worried that the confusion caused by the delay of the DTV transition will hurt sales at a time when any buying trend is desperately needed. Some customers are confused and don’t know what to think. Others say it was the right thing to do because there are still many American households that will be affected by the transition and won’t be ready for the originally scheduled date. Overall, the reaction is causing bloggers, publications and others to talk about it, hence the reason you are reading this very post from the Devix blog.
The consumer electronics world is certainly full of surprises as well as ups and downs. Just last year in 2008 there was a major shakeup in the industry as one of the giants filed for bankruptcy, and then when they failed to raise cash or secure a buyer, they closed their doors and entered into a liquidation sale - one of the largest on record. It’s no secret at this point; Circuit City is no longer in business. Although this is bad news, there is silver lining and lessons to be learned from this colossal failure. Who knows what the trend will be in the next few years in consumer electronics. One thing is for sure, you will need a digital television or digital converter to even watch television. That is one step closer to a digital future that no one is really sure what it will entail.
Devix, the creators of the only “true”, end to end ecommerce solution is at it yet again. Remember the good old days of the Wild, Wild West? When the ‘anything goes’ sentiment was common, gunslingers were battling it out at the OK Corral, and all the while you were purchasing items with no tax. Wait a minute, not that old West, the electronic one, the World Wide Web or cyber space as many would call it. We may soon be telling our children and grandchildren stories about way back when, a time when you could purchase something on the Web and not pay any taxes. There is talk about applying sales tax to items purchased online, regardless of what state you live in or what state the company operates in. Yes, the unthinkable might come true.
Uncle Sam and the Tax-Man may soon be putting their hands in your pocket once again, and there won’t be a stimulus package than can help you. The government is trying to make gains to cover huge tax losses due to the current economic conditions, and the loss of tax revenue from retailers who posted the worst holiday sales revenues in many years. There is also speculation on whether or not states will raise gas taxes to make up for the drop in demand of oil and gas, as well as the drop in travel by consumers who are cutting back on everything, but that’s another story, another blog entry…
What does this mean to you the consumer or online merchants? No one is exactly sure, but it will certainly have an effect on the booming business of online retailers. Although ecommerce has showed no signs of slowing down year over year, paying taxes online when most shoppers are used to tax free deals could hinder this year’s growth. Smart retailers are bracing for this and are allowing room for savings in other areas such as shipping, bundled deals and extended sales times. For example, one retailer said it would extend holiday sales to more than just one day, perhaps even making them a weekly sales event. No one is 100% sure about what will happen taxes being applied to online shopping regardless of the state you live in, but it will be interesting to see the outcome. Retailers and consumers will certainly have to get used to it if in fact the change does occur.
Devix International, the creators of an end to end ecommerce platform has the solutions to help merchants deal with new tax laws state by state. Tax calculations are important to any business, but when working with online retailers, changes to their calculations can be crucial for both business and possible audits. Devix, with their tag line “For E-tailers, By E-tailers”, has worked with many online retailers and has provided them with robust online tools. The Devix Commerce Suite gives merchants the ability to create tax groups based on state/zip code range. This would prove very helpful in the event of all states charging tax for shopping online.
As the world turns it keeps getting smaller and smaller because of globalization. Technology has allowed us to communicate more efficiently at home and abroad. Mobile technology has given us the ability to get in touch with each other from just about anywhere we stand. Our shopping habits have changed as well; we know this because electronic commerce spending is growing year over year. Electronic commerce is no longer limited to the web and you no longer have to be in front of a computer to make a purchase. According to Internet Retailer, Mobile Commerce is quickly developing into the next big competitive frontier in e-retailing.
Cardinal Commerce has brought the ability to easily purchase something through your Mobile device. Yes, Cardinal Max, the mobile payment solution by Cardinal Commerce allows merchants to set up a mobile commerce within minutes. For all of you impulsive shoppers out there, here is another method you can use to indulge yourself in your favorite pass time… shopping. For merchants this is the best thing since sliced bread - not really - but it will provide them the opportunity to sell products at anytime from any location.
Mobile commerce has long been up and coming in the US, but the European and Asian markets have been enjoying the fruits of the mobile commerce labor for quite some time. Picture this, you’re reading a catalog on the train on your way to work when you come across that gadget or sweater you must have. Instead of calling them to order or using your work computer to purchase online (we all know not to do that on company time), or waiting on hold with a customer service person and perhaps disturbing the folks around you by being that annoying person talking loudly on their mobile phone. Shoppers can access this functionality through a text message, mobile internet or from an application on their mobile phone. It’s that simple. There’s no need to say how advantageous enabling impulse buying can be for a merchant.
Devix International, (formerly Devix Corporation) the creators of an end to end ecommerce solution partners with Cardinal Commerce. The Devix Commerce Suite v.7 is a powerful and robust ecommerce platform that contains all components needed to run a successful online business.
As we all face these tough economic times you will no doubt try to find ways to increase your business, increase efficiency and pretty much be asked to “recession-proof” your business. Today’s competitive landscape coupled with a grim holiday season for retailers everywhere seems like a recipe for a perfect storm of revenue loss. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. One area of the business that you can control is your order processing and the manner in which your company deals with fraud. Fraud has always been and will always be of great concern to retailers, especially for online retailers because of credit card and other forms of online payment fraud.
In reality, online payment fraud techniques are always changing and evolving to sneak through older protection tools. It is imperative for merchants to have a system in place that allows business managers to modify rules related to their protection procedures. A manager needs to be able to make cost effective decisions in real time; not wait on an IT department. According to the “Online Fraud Report,” only 16% of merchants have a system in place with that functionality. It would be easy to publish a set of general rules for all etailers to help limit fraud. However, fraud protection is only affective when it is tailored to the industry and personalized to fit your unique business model.
Devix, creators of a true end to end ecommerce solution, partners with Cyber Source, the world’s first ecommerce payment management to offer its clients a robust tool that allows them to manage their payments and deal with fraud. Cyber Source is focused on services that optimize business results through active management of the payment process from payment acceptance and order screening, through reconciliation and payment security. With global operations headquartered in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan CyberSource serves the e-payment needs of merchants worldwide.
Devix has been helping online merchants manage transactions while providing protection tools allowing them to better cope with this part of the business. Often a manual process, these tools provide merchants with the know-how and processes to make better decisions when dealing with risky orders. For example, merchants can set the threshold levels for fraud detection on orders ranging from a certain dollar amount and bill to/ship to discrepancies all the way to geographical attributes. Devix, with its tag line “For E-tailers, By E-tailers”, is there to help through its subject matter experts.

OK… If you are a retailer I know what you’re thinking this holiday season. You’re thinking, “How can I not only survive this holiday season, but be profitable as well?” In these uncertain economic times just about all businesses are feeling the crunch. Consumers are cutting back on everything, and it’s sending a ripple effect through every industry from manufacturing to luxury goods. Retailers especially are bracing themselves for possibly the worst holiday shopping season in six years. With all this bad news in the air one might ask, is there a silver lining? You bet there is, only it’s mostly a breath of fresh air for online retailers, whom if predictions are correct are set to mark yet another year of growth, which has been year over year growth since the inception of ecommerce in the late 1990s.
Where will this good news and hope come from? The answer is; all over the globe. The folks who are helping are PayPal, whom have recently introduced a new resource to help online retailers and small businesses sell abroad (Beal, 2008). Click on the following link for the full story http://www.ecommerce-guide.com/news/news/article.php/3785726
PayPal is ahead of the game with this insightful nudge of help and encouragement for its customers. Not only is it a great idea, but it is educational and provides merchants with valuable knowledge about markets abroad. The weak dollar and the weak global economy will bring many over-seas shoppers to the web looking for bargains. Merchants can find useful information regarding global markets at the PayPal Global Selling Guide.
Devix, providers of an end to end ecommerce solution is getting in on the effort. Devix works with PayPal to allow its customers to use another payment method along with the many others available by the Devix ecommerce platform, making it easy for merchants to accept several forms of payment. From the smallest entrepreneur who needs a flexible, integrated, easy-to-learn system, to the sophisticated multi-warehouse retailer with thousands of SKUs looking for a scalable, fully integrated platform upon which to automate business processes – Devix has a solution tailored to fit.
There is no doubt in our minds that the “green” initiative is here to stay, regardless of what the non-believers say. We’ve all heard the phrase “going green” and have been inundated with environmental ads that display dos and don’ts, or give you advice on how to go green. Some of us are pitching in, and others are not sure they’re willing to change their lifestyle, either way, the going green initiative seems like it’s here to stay. It has touched just about every industry. In Cyberspace, people are doing what they can to be environmentally friendly, and the ecommerce industry is doing its fair share. Today, many data centers around the world are switching to cleaner energy output and are adopting best practices with regards to being “green”. Since “going green” is a very marketable term right now, many marketers, etailers as well as traditional brick and mortar companies are embracing the ethical social phenomenon that is “the green initiative”.
Ecommerce companies are coming around, especially since true ecommerce companies conduct 100% of their business online - in cyberspace if you will – and they are in a good position to give something back to the world, right? Not so fast. Of course we all know that online shopping and shipping go hand in hand. The big four carriers, Fedex, UPS, DHL and the good ole’ USPS are all trying to find ways to play nice with the environment as well, but this is easier said than done in our oil dependant world. With energy costs soaring and our eyes on a new direction, it will be some time before being environmentally friendly becomes a reality for all industries. At least for now, the very controllable world of data center energy can help many online retailers join the fight against global warming and all other damages to the environment that come with burning fossil fuel for energy.
Devix, the creator s of the only “true”, end-to-end ecommerce platform has joined the fight as well. Devix adopted environmentally safe practices such as company-wide paper recycling, turning the lights off overnight and other acts of kindness towards the environment that one can find at http://www.thegreenguide.com/. These small steps add up so please help out and do your part. The Devix solution allows its customers to run their online businesses more efficiently with regards to how they operate. In some cases, etailers were able to trim several seconds off the time it took to process each transaction, and when processing tens of thousands of transactions, over a year these savings amounted to an entire person’s salary. Since these etailers were able to operate using less people, they used less energy, thus lowering emissions that person might have used to get to work. All of this results to one less person on the road, and one less person using electricity in the workplace. Of course, with profits rising, these companies were able to invest in more “green” initiatives.
With a looming recession overhead and the global markets moving toward uncertainty, it is important for all of us to stick together and help whenever we can. Etailers and traditional retailers are in a good position to give something back by moving towards better environmental habits while operating their business. This is an initiative that we can all pitch in and do our part. Devix is proud of the “green” culture it’s promoting both with their employees and their customers.
For Generation X-ers, Generation Y-ers, and for the growing percentage of cyber savvy Boomers, eCommerce is steadily becoming the norm. In the beginning the trust factor just wasn’t there. When people thought of purchasing products over the Internet, images of shady hackers sitting on a computer in a dingy basement trying to steal your credit card information or your identity quickly came to mind. This scared the hell out of most folks, especially the “granny”, AOL types who were just starting to realize this “Internet” thing is here to stay, not only that, there might be some practical use to it - sorry WWII generation! Of course, hackers are still around and trying to do more of the same but eCommerce websites have become much more secure, and buying products over the Internet is a convenience many people in this day and age simply can’t live without. Services such as Verified by Visa and Secure Card by Mastercard have given hope to those weary about placing orders online with their credit cards.
Today, there are literally tens of thousands of eCommerce websites selling anything from an old antique lamp found in Grandpa Joe’s junk pile to automobiles and RVs that can be delivered to your door step. Ecommerce is a multi-billion dollar industry with no ceiling in sight. So why not continue to find new ways to market your eCommerce website? The reason is usually time and money, advertising is typically expensive and campaigns are resource intensive.
Devix Corporation, an end-to-end eCommerce solutions provider is ahead of the competition in that they offer consulting services regarding how to blog your biz and why e-tailers should use social marketing. It seems Facebook and Myspace are not only cyber hangouts, but they carry a marketing message so powerful that companies couldn’t buy that kind of publicity.
Every business goes through growing pains, but why go through pain you don’t have to? Blogging and social marketing are the new kids on the block – no, not the boy band from 1990s - in terms of “word of mouth” marketing. It’s not enough to use the conventional tools of direct marketing, even the Interactive methods that were considered so innovative and high-tech such as email marketing. These days you have to take it to the people and let them do the talking to promote your business. Web sites like Myspace and Facebook have changed the way online communities operate. They made it possible for people to commune in Cyberspace. They provide a forum to help people keep up with the latest trends and have access to media such as pictures, video and audio. You better believe that while teenagers today are gossiping about how Justin dumped Kelly, they’re also talking about the hottest new gadgets they got or what color iPod they have. There is no better marketing message than peer pressure, which in adult terms translates to “keeping up with the Jones’”.
Blogging is quickly bringing out the closet writers and everyone who dreamed of being published. Companies are using this phenomenon to their advantage and creating blogs of their own and/or creating lounge type areas on their websites where customers, prospects and others can get together to talk about their experience. It gets better, not only does more content on the web that obtain key words help you get your message out, it also helps with Search Engine Optimization(SEO). In short, if you’re an ecommerce business or even a brick and mortar with a website, then you should be blogging on your website.
